Huacaya is the most common breed of alpaca in Australia. Alpacas are sought for their high-quality fleece and their natural tendency to protect other livestock from predators.
They grow a soft, fluffy, high-quality fleece of fiber. They are generally shorn once each year and will cut a fleece of between 0.5 – 4kg.
